An Inspiration to Us All: The Story behind gizzhead.com
I’ve loved music since I was a little kid. Growing up, whenever I got in the car with my parents, we would listen to some kind of rock music during the ride. They would play anything from Led Zeppelin to Fleetwood Mac and it just seemed like another day to me.
Little did I know that my love for all things rock and roll would only grow the older I got. I started playing drums in my Junior year in high school and a bit more seriously around the age of 21.
Since that age I’ve only gotten more attached to playing, and I have to say that King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard is not only one of my favorite bands, but probably my biggest inspiration to go as far as I can with music. I am, without a doubt, a major Gizzhead!

I started listening to King Gizzard in 2017. I was looking up bands that would be playing later that year at the Desert Daze festival in Joshua Tree, California.
At that time, I really enjoyed listening to Quarters! and Murder of the Universe. I had no idea what I was in for when I would eventually see them perform live later that year…
When I finally did see them play at the festival, I was immediately hooked! I was immediately a Gizzhead and have since seen them play live many more times. I’m always looking forward to their next performance!
They have significantly influenced my love for music and my creativity. Most importantly, they have inspired me as a drummer in the band I play in – The Poppy Seeds.
